Barcelona's Best Group-Friendly Restaurants and Places to Dine with Friends

Barcelona's wide range of restaurants caters to private parties of two as well as larger groups of 10, 20, 30 and even more people. As long as you let them know in advance, most places, no matter how small, can usually find the space to accommodate larger groups either on their rooftop terrace, outdoor patio or in the middle of the restaurant by putting a few tables together. There are some establishments that specialize in bigger groups, and they're larger, airier and have more of an infrastructure to cater to more people effectively. The Old City, although spaces are smaller have some authentic restaurants which provide a charming and lively ambiance for groups. Montiel, in the Old City is quite small, however it's second floor is ideal for a group of about 10-15 people. La Pepita in the Eixample neighborhood is a family-run restaurant, also quite small however its back room can serve up to 15 people comfortably and this is a great place for bigger groups to dine. A few higher-end restaurants with good space include Speak Easy and the Academy which are connected to each other. It always pays to reserve in advance if you have a large group and ask if they have special menus which most restaurants do for parties of 10 or more.
