6 212 Market Restaurant
This family-owned establishment has been pleasing diners since before downtown Chattanooga's renaissance as a dining destination. Soft blue walls and hardwood floors provide a serene atmosphere enhanced by the soft music playing in the background and the candle-lit, linen-covered tables. The menu changes regularly but you can always expect a vegetarian pasta option, seafood dishes such as salmon kabobs served with dipping sauce, and rack of lamb with cumin glaze. 5 Boathouse Rotisserie and Raw Bar
This spot is the perfect choice for a balmy day because you can eat outside on the deck overlooking the Tennessee River. Even inside, wide windows offer beautiful, unobstructed water views. This elegant restaurant is located downtown in the Chattanoogan Hotel. Be sure to arrive at this steakhouse with your appetite intact. To save room for the 20-ounce ribeye steaks and 14-ounce pork chops, start your meal light with the fried green tomatoes. Sides include the jumbo potato and thick, hand-cut onion rings. The chicken and fish dishes are equally hearty. Sample the hand-breaded schrod topped with dill-caper sauce.
