Steakhouses: For almost 30 years, the three brothers who own Jim's Place have been serving top-of-the-line Greek dishes (including mousaka, veal cutlet and rotisserie pork), along with a variety of American favorites. A variety of prime steaks and chops is offered, and unlike many steakhouses, Jim's includes to sides as part of the entree. There's an extensive wine list and a variety of housemade, family-recipe deserts to enjoy, and the bartenders are old hands at mixing the perfect cocktail. Once located in the family's old summer home in far east Memphis, the new location on Perkins Road near Poplar has brought a whole new clientel into the restaurant, as well as its long-time patrons. An older crowd (as in, 60's and above) tends to grab the early dinner reservations.
