In the few months that Cadeau Nashville has been open, owners Frannie Preston Daughrity and Catherine Rector have brought a great amount of charm with them to the 12South Flats building. Relocating from their successful location in Columbia, Tenn., to their new spot in Nashville at the end of September 2013, Cadeau Nashville offers a strong combination of home furnishings and gift items under one roof that really speaks to the taste and lifestyle of Nashville’s music industry.

Part of the reason for that is because the concept, style and motivation behind Cadeau is largely inspired by Daughrity’s grandmother and mentor, Frances Preston. Preston, the former president of BMI, was an undisputed music industry icon and trailblazer for women in the industry and Nashville in general. And that sense of spirit shines not only through the look of Cadeau, but the items inside as well.
“My grandmother was such a source of encouragement and inspiration,” Daughrity says. “Cadeau Nashville will be a legacy to her sense of style and love for this community.”
And they are already off to a stylish start. The store blends down-home southern industrial décor with hints of posh and luxury–a style that appeals to what Daughrity and Rector call “New Nashville.” Items that fall into that theme could include anything from a large investment art piece or small, gift-able items. No matter the item, one thing is very clear: at Cadeau, everything they sell comes with a story.
“I grew up in, and have been surrounded by, the music industry my entire life,” Daughrity says. “I wanted to open a store that catered to the music industry consumer, whether that be a Nashville native or L.A. transplant.”

Cadeau carries new and refurbished items, including couches, chairs, candles, art accessories, linens, bedding, coffee table books, seasonal gifts and more. Both Daughrity and Rector are committed not only to stocking local brands like Holler Designs from Lascassas, but also to carrying beloved made-in-the-USA brands such as Soup Bedding and Patch NYC candles, too. And the effect is amazing - a boutique like no other with items you know won't be at the next place you walk into.
For truly special holiday gifts for everyone on your list - gifts that showcase that “New Nashville” sensibility - Cadeau is a great choice. They stock up on ornaments, holiday candles and plenty of locally made seasonal gifts that make it a one-stop shop for friends and family alike.
