This Dallas institution celebrates a long life
Tired of tolerating loud, throbbing nightclubs or watching smug hipsters sip on their craft beers? You're in luck, as Dallas has a hidden gem to solve all of your problems!
Head on down to The Library Bar at the Warwick Melrose Hotel, and exhale a sigh of relief over your specialty martini.
The Library has been a Dallas institution for decades, and like a fine wine, it has only improved over the years. In fact, it's been named one of the top bars in the U.S. in many world-renowned publications. Not to mention, it's one of the only bars in all of Dallas that features live piano music nightly.
If you're a martini drinker, then you'll love this place! The Library has an ongoing martini contest that takes place on Wednesday nights, called "Martini Madness." Patrons can sample five new martinis each week and then vote on the best, as well as have the opportunity to name the winner! The winners are then featured on the cocktail menu.
Some of the past martini winners include the Yogurt Sour, which now resides on the menu alongside the iced coffee-flavored Espresso Martini and Gingered Apple – made with Grey Goose Citron, sour apple pucker and bitters and ginger beer.
Other seasonal cocktails include the Sipping a Rye Cocktail, made with Whistle Pig Rye Whiskey, simple syrup and bitters and lemon juice, along with the Mantarita, an upscale margarita comprised of Sauza Hornitos Plata tequila, St. Germaine, apple cider, cinnamon and lemon.
If you're hungry, The Library Bar has a full menu that complements any cocktail, beer or wine. Some of the most popular menu items include the pork belly mac and cheese, brisket sliders, mozzarella flat bread and an artisan cheese board with Humboldt Fog, four-year-aged cheddar, mezzo seco and double cream gouda.
The atmosphere at The Library is laid back, yet very elegant. The decor features a variety of leather furniture, warm woods and subtle colors, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind in comfort.
The dress code is dressy casual, and it's a popular spot for after-work cocktails for the power players in Dallas. The Library is definitely one of Dallas' classiest bars!
In celebration of the Warwick Melrose's 90th anniversary, guests are offered a glass of 90 cent sparkling wine with any meal at The Library. Plus, a regular happy hour occurs between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., but on Fridays, there's a late-night happy hour.
