A Californian staple Trader Joe's has gained quite a cult-like following, and North Texans have been looking forward to a local opening for years. Now they can rejoice, as the Plano store opened in September 2012. Located in the shopping center at Preston and Park in Plano, Trader Joe's is quickly becoming a go-to spot for Dallas foodies. It offers a wide variety of unique foods under the Trader Joe's brand, and just the atmosphere there itself, not to mention the delicious sample foods, are worth the trip.

Staffers wear colorful Hawaiian shirts, and the Plano store is pretty big for Trader Joe's standards with 14,000 sq. feet of shopping space. Some of the most notable sections within the store include the cooking demo area, wine section, frozen foods aisle and special produce section. Most of the items have no preservatives or artificial flavors. Some of the most popular purchases here include the $2.99 "Two Buck Chuck" wine and the cookie butter. Other fan favorites are the vegetarian sausage patties, organic mango passion granola, lemon and triple ginger snap ice cream, hummus and shrimp corn dogs. No matter what you're in the mood for, you'll be able to find something new and unique at Trader Joe's.
