Every extraordinary moment seems to be accompanied by an extraordinary meal. If you're looking for just the right restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, then The Restaurant at Dos Brisas should be at the top of your list, located not far from Houston and on the property of the most gorgeous luxury ranch resort known as The Inn at Dos Brisas.
You should know that this restaurant is the only Forbes five-star restaurant in Texas. Magic seems to happen when you combine the expertise of Executive Chef Zachery Ladwig, protege to Gordon Ramsey of Hell's Kitchen, with a two-dozen-acre farm and greenhouse filled with stunning organic produce, including a wide array of enchanting and tasty micro veggies.

"After working at Dos Brisas, I know I never want to cook again without a garden," says Chef Ladwig.
No doubt it would be hard to go back to anything else. Ladwag's style and passion is to showcase the ingredients in the simplest and most elegant manner, retaining all of the beauty and flavor.
The menu, which artfully blends French cuisine with Texas ingredients, is constantly changing and depends largely on what's available in the garden. "Farmer Lisa," as she's called, harvests the produce for the restaurant, but maintaining an organic garden, much less in Texas, is not an easy task.
It's recommended that you enjoy the tasting menu, but you can also enjoy a prix fixe three-course dinner as well. You can expect unforgettable dishes such as red snapper and beans from their Shade House, with cured Meyer lemon; marinated summer melons and Maine lobster; a sunny-side up yard egg with summer truffle; and a Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate coulant with vanilla ice cream.

The Spanish country manor decor of the dining room, which features an 18th-century fireplace from France's Loire Valley, is both intimate and luxurious, and it offers the most stunning view of the property. If you're lucky, you might glance up to see a horse cantering by.
The restaurant also has a 7,000-bottle wine cellar and offers a pairing for each of the dishes on the tasting menu. If you're able to take advantage of Dos Brisas' amazing accommodations, make sure to sign up for a wine tasting. Whether you consider yourself an expert or not, there is no doubt you will learn something and enjoy a scintillating array of wines to boot.
Chef Ladwag also offers a cooking class, where you can learn from the pro himself how to create delicious dishes such as homemade pasta. It might not be as easy as he makes it look, but no doubt you'll have a blast!
