You've probably stayed in a Hilton. If not, you've almost assuredly seen one. A massive, global company, Hilton operates more than 530 luxury and select service hotels around the world. In fact, the Hilton brand stretches across six continents and 78 countries. And though this chain already sets a high standard for lodging, it has just announced that it will spend $3 billion over the next three years to improve its global portfolio–including the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.
Hilton's Salt Lake installment will see $10 million of this massive purse. With the goal of improving and modernizing its guest rooms, this particular Hilton hotel aims to have its project complete by late August 2012. No small task, this will endow each of the hotel's 20 suites and 479 guest rooms with 38-inch LCD televisions, Hilton Serenity beds, improved work desks and ergonomic chairs, new coffee makers, wall coverings, carpeting, and other miscellaneous furniture.
Those hoping to stay at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center needn't worry about this project spoiling their plans. The renovation will be restricted to three floors at any given time, leaving the overwhelming majority of the hotel open and fully functional. Furthermore, the lobby, meeting rooms, fitness areas, pool, and restaurants–all recently redone–will not be affected by the project.
