"Thanks be to cod" reads the sign on the entrance to this casual, Dublin-inspired, fish and chip joint. They offer a variety of fresh fish options, including prawns, grouper, and, of course, cod. Paradiso is not your average pizza joint. Gourmet pizzas are freshly prepared with ingredients such as soy mozzarella and goat cheese. With their winning combination of wine bar and coffee shop, Grape + Bean has quickly become an Old Town favorite for intimate dining. 7 Union Street Public House

6 Fontaine Caffe
Whether your craving savory or sweet, Fontaine will supply you with just the right crêpe to please your tastebuds. From the "Old Towner" crêpe of ham, sauteed spinach, and caramelized onions to the "Bella" of Nutella and fresh strawberries, they get the flavors just right. They also offer vegetarian and gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions and soups and salads for those looking for a non-crêpe meal. 5 The Fish Market Restaurant
The Fish Market Restaurant is the place to go for prime seafood in a lovely historic setting. The building that houses the restaurant dates back to the 19th century, and the warm woods and exposed brick walls inside recreate the era. Here, settle into the cozy booths and dine on a menu that features fresh fish dishes, including oysters, crab imperial, and even lobster pasta. 4 La Bergerie

3 Satay Sarinah
This cheerful, vividly-painted restaurant offers wonderful Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine and has become one of the area's fastest-growing restaurants. Although the food is exotic, the knowledgeable staff will gladly guide you through menu offerings. With so many excellent dishes to try, the best bet is to order the rijsttafel, which presents small samples of favorites like coconut and potato croquettes, Bogor-style chicken, and items that do wonders with tofu. 2 Evening Star Cafe
An innovative American menu make this an outstanding choice for a special evening. Dinner options range from simple and light to hearty and complex. The most popular item is pecan-crusted filet of rockfish, served in garlic sauce with a surprising side of succotash. Fried seafood, including shrimp and catfish, has a spicy kick. A huge wine list (more than 1000 bottles) is available courtesy of Planet Wine located next door. Patrons also love the atmosphere: cheery yellow walls, pressed-tin ceilings, and lighting fashioned from Erector sets. Seafood gets New Orleans style at this unpretentious restaurant. Try crawfish étoufée, famous crabcakes, and rave-inducing soft-shell crabs. The most popular appetizer is a crawfish and shrimp beignet, topped with garlic mayonnaise. Although seafood — from fried catfish po' boys to Shrimp Diane — is the house specialty, guests also love Tennessee Sour Mash pork barbecue, made with a touch of Jack Daniels.
