For more than 20 years, New Year's Eve fireworks at the Space Needle have illuminated the city. The 605-foot Space Needle once again will display Seattle's traditional New Year's Eve fireworks show with thousands of pyrotechnic effects at midnight on December 31. More than 20,000 people are expected gather below the tower to watch the fireworks shoot across the night sky, and an estimated 400,000 people will view the show from surrounding neighborhoods. Also, "Seattle's Coolest Santa and His Out-of-This-World-WorkShip" entertain crowds with "the coolest, hippest Santa Seattle has ever seen," who chills out out with a couple of his elves at the top of the Space Needle this holiday season. Eager to show off his new, super-sleek WorkShip and flashy new threads, Jolly St. Nick will be on the Observation Deck to meet and greet guests and to take pictures with them in his shiny new ride.
- Holiday Attractions: "There are great viewing spots around town from which to view the Space Needle show; just try to stay upwind away from the fireworks smoke! Also, at the Space Needle all season long, visit Seattle's Coolest Santa and His Out-of-This-World-WorkShip."
- Best for Holiday Attractions Because: New Year's Eve at the Space Needle means spectacular fireworks above the city's most iconic site, and "Seattle's Coolest Santa" sets up shop all season.
