Here, we distill the best businesses down to a special selection of ten. These places promise a stellar experience and a taste of the city that you just can't miss.

9 Million Dollar Cowboy Bar
Saddle up! That's right, the barstools here are actually saddles, so saddle up and have a beer or a cocktail. Music is the lifeblood of the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, and musicians are scheduled Monday through Saturday nights. Past performers include Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Asleep at the Wheel, Hoyt Axton, Glen Campbell, and Tanya Tucker. Wear your dancing boots, because it's near impossible to just sit still and watch! Cash only but ATM is on site. (307-733-2207, 307-733-4790)

8 Mangy Moose Restaurant and Saloon
This funky bar is located right at the base of the Jackson Hole ski area in the Teton Village. So, of course, skiers are their strongest group of patrons. The house beer on tap is Moose Brew. There are two dance floors, so you can groove to the live music of whichever up-and coming-artist is being featured that night! A stop by the Mangy Moose makes the perfect ending to any day. 7 Nikai
Eclectic is the operative word at Nikai Sushi, where the fish is flown in fresh every day, the sake is perfectly chilled (or warmed, as the case may be), and the scene is hip and energetic. Friday nights are especially fun — DJs provide the music, the bar concocts creative cocktails, and the crowd doesn't thin til the wee hours. If it's sushi you're after, Nikai is sure to please. Standouts on the menu include unique rolls such as the Dagwood (tempura shrimp, avocado, blue crab, and tuna) and the Funky Lobster (tempura fried spicy lobster and wasabi aioli). Traditional rolls and sashimi, plus a variety of unusual cooked dishes, make this an appealing option for all. (307-734-6490)

6 Silver Dollar Bar
Fairly bursting with authentic ambience, the Silver Dollar Bar will transport you back to the days of the Old Wild West. It wasn't constructed until 1950, but you'd never know it. In a nod to Jackson's gambling days, the hand built bar was covered with over 2000 silver dollar coins, then protected with many, many layers of sealant. People try to remove the coins, but never succeed. Popular with locals and tourists alike, the bar does fill up quickly, especially when there's a band, so try to arrive a little early. In addition to an array of beers and specialty cocktails, the bar serves up good pub grub, highlighted by a tasty buffalo burger and crab cakes with chili-lime aioli. (307-733-2190, 800-322-2727)

5 The Lounge
Let the friendly staff at The Lounge treat you to one of their delightful daily drink specials. Great views of The Rafferty's Lift/Ski Area in the winter and in the summer The Alpine Slide and Mini-Golf Area. Relax by the fireplace or catch a game on one of the three flat screen TV's. (307-733-5200)

4 Snake River Brewing Company
This is a great place to enjoy a local microbrew. Snake River opened in 1994and has been brewing award-winning beers ever since. Three of their most popular medal-winning varieties — Zonker Stout, Snake River Lager, and Snake River Pale Ale — are available in bottles, which make a great souvenir to take your friends back home. The food menu is comprised of upscale pub grub, which accompanies the beer quite well. Standouts include the portabella mushroom sandwich, all of the wood-fired-oven pizzas, and the sausage and white bean penne. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and family-friendly to boot! (307-739-2337)

3 Stagecoach Bar
The Stagecoach Bar has lots of authentic cowboy ambience. Live country music and dancing on the weekends, with the Stagecoach Band playing on Sunday nights. If you don't want to dance, order a pitcher of beer (there are usually three on tap) and challenge your friends to a game of pool. This popular bar is a favorite among the locals, so you'll almost always find a crowd! (307-733-4407)

2 43 North
For a good time near the base of Snow King, head to 43 North. You'll find either live music or DJs keeping things lively on weekend nights, and the happy hour prices are great, particularly for draft beers, all week long. ((307) 733-0043)

1 Grand Teton Music Festival
The Grand Teton Music Festival has flooded the valley of Jackson Hole with classical music every year for nearly half a century. The orchestra is composed of many talented musicians from around the world. 40 concerts are given over a period of eight weeks. The Friday rehearsals are open to everyone, and prior to concerts you are invited to come to lectures. Single ticket prices range from $15-$27, with student and group discounts. The music programs range from Mozart to tango, with evenings featuring different instruments such as the piano or percussion instruments. (307-733-3050, 307-733-1128)
