This festive pop-up bar is making the season bright

Tinsel has decked the halls with all things Christmas

By Kae Lani Kennedy,

The folks at Tinsel have decked the halls of an old jewelry shop in Center City, Philadelphia, creating a Christmas-themed pop-up bar that is sure to bring holiday cheer to even the grinch-iest of patrons.

The concept was created by a group of bars and restaurants in the area. BRU Craft & Wurst, Cinder, U-Bahn, Uptown Beer Garden and Finn McCool’s Ale House have collaborated together to create 1,100 square feet of festivities. The space features three rooms with floor-to-ceiling decorations, wrapping paper and holiday lights.

They’ve worked with local artists to create holiday-themed pieces including a custom-made Krampus mural by Scott Johnston who is known for his work at Silk City Diner and Franky Bradly.

The team has also come up with a menu of $5 Christmas cocktails. The clever concoctions include a Gingerbread Man Martini with RumChata and gingerbread cordial, a Winter Wonderland made with white chocolate liqueur and peppermint schnapps, and the Jingle Juice cocktail made with Bacardi and amaretto, as well as other festive, inspired drinks.

So kick back a Gingerbread Man Martini, jam to some holiday tunes and take in the festive spirit of Tinsel. It’s the perfect way to end a day of holiday shopping.
