Sun, Sea, Sand and Surf are all easily accessible on your doorstep in Singapore, on the popular beaches of Sentosa Island. While the ultra-modern city-state of Singapore is usually associated with skyscrapers and shopping malls, the Sentosa Island beaches are where the population heads to for some fun in the sun. Beach bars, watersports, beachside dining, beachfront hotels and family-friendly visitor attractions are all on offer at Singapore’s favorite playground.

The 3.2km sandy stretch that extends along the southern coast of Sentosa Island is divided into three distinct beaches – Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong – each with its own distinct feel and visit-worthy attractions. Free beach trams connect the beaches and run at regular intervals.
Siloso Beach is popular with sunworshippers and beach volleyball enthusiasts. Kids will love getting up close and personal with the marine life at Underwater World Singapore, while those looking for some action can surf a manmade wave at Wave House Sentosa, or get their adrenaline pumping on the most extreme zip wires in Asia at MegaZip Adventure Park. Bars and restaurants abound on Siloso Beach, from the family friendly Trapizza and Coastes, to the hip and happening Azzura Beach Club.

Palawan Beach is next along the coast. Popular with local families, Palawan can get particularly crowded at weekends. A suspension bridge links beach-goers to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia, where viewing towers provide endless views over the South China Sea. The most popular attraction on Palawan is Port of Lost Wonder, a beachfront kids club featuring a Pirate Ship water-play area and foam pool.
If you want to escape the crowds, then head to Tanjong Beach during the week to enjoy a deserted beach dotted with palm trees. Be warned though, at weekends the bold and the beautiful descend on Tanjong Beach in droves, particularly on a Sunday afternoon when Tanjong Beach Club kicks off with flowing cocktails, thumping tunes and bikini-clad revelers posing by the pool.
