10Best's Favorite Romantic Things to Do in Bora Bora

Natural beauty provides an already romantic backdrop, the resorts take it one step further

Bora Bora is continuously hailed as one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Where better to honeymoon, exchange vows or embark on a luxurious couples getaway than a tiny, isolated and intimate island in French Polynesia where you can sleep in luxurious accommodations suspended over the crystal-clear ocean?

Yes, the turquoise-colored ocean provides amazing visibility to sea life below. The soft, white-sand beaches are also nothing short of spectacular. Year-round sunshine means ditch the winter clothes, and prepare to spend the vacation in casual beachwear without a care in the world.

The resorts are practiced in making romantic getaways a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Even if just for one night, splurge on a private overwater bungalow. Some even have clear viewing panels in the floor or coffee tables to reveal the ocean below. Enjoy a candlelit dinner for two with the soothing sounds of the ocean providing the perfect ambiance.

While seated at a table on the overwater bungalow's private deck, watch as your breakfast is paddled to you in a flower-laden Polynesian Outrigger canoe--one of the islands most notable romantic experiences.

Spa treatments using local ingredients and flowers calm nerves in an exotic environment. Try a floral bath for two, a hot stone massage, or even a sunset milk bath while overlooking a lagoon.

Concierge and butlers can organize just about anything, from secluded beach dinners to even a spur of the moment re-kindling of vows. A bath overflowing with flower petals may be just what you're looking for. Just ask.

Active couples may enjoy kayaking, a sunset catamaran cruise, parasailing and other water-centric activities. However, away from the shore is the opportunity to take a quiet hike or Jeep adventure through lush greenery.

In Bora Bora, it's all about you.
