Boston's Fenway Park, home of the 2004 and 2007 World Series Champion Red Sox, is a must-see for anyone visiting the area; sports fan or not. Hosting its first game in 1912 (Babe Ruth played here), Fenway is Major League Baseball's oldest ballpark and is reminiscent of a time when fields where constructed in the hearts of their home cities.

Being located in downtown Boston, Fenway offers visitors the opportunity to make a full day out of attending a ball game. You walk or ride the T to Kenmore Square and immediately find yourself immersed in Red Sox country. Depending on the day, you can see ESPN shooting an episode of "Baseball Tonight" right on Yawkey Way as you peruse the stores to pick out that favorite player jersey or pink Red Sox hat for your female companion.

Loading up on a famous "sausage & peppers" from a friendly street vendor is advisable in order to adhere to tradition, as well as to avoid pricier options inside the stadium. Besides the vendors, there are a plethora of options for pre-game eats and drinks. Boston Beer Works is a definitely work checking out whether you're with the family or with the guys. They have plenty of great food options and most likely have your favorite beer in stock or on tap. Their Blueberry Beer is highly recommended.

For the more intense sports fans who want to be able to interact with other die-hards, or for people looking to check out a more unique setting, the Bleacher Bar is your spot. Bleacher Bar is actually built into a old storage area in the outfield of Fenway Park. There are about 10-15 spots within the bar where you can actually see a good bit of the game through a garage door. This place does get packed, so make sure to arrive early if you plan on watching some of the game from here.

When it gets to be game time, Fenway Park offers fans a variety of game action viewing experiences. Opposing players say Fenway is extremely intense to play at because the fans seem to be right on top of you. With Fenway having set the pro sports record for consecutive sell outs, make sure to obtain these tickets early if this type of experience is what you are looking for.

Another premium seating option that can't be found anywhere else are is the "Monster Seat". These seats put you on top of baseball's famous 37' green left field wall. Just because these seats are higher and in the outfield, the angle offered is amazing for watching the game and for catching potential home run balls. The monster seats have their own food and beer vendors so you won't have to walk far to get what you need.

If you're a more casual fan or first timer, the Budweiser Right Field Roof Deck is a great place to take in the game. The deck offers a full service bar with food options and plenty of room to watch the game, talk with friends and walk around. These tickets (without guaranteed table space) can be had for a very reasonable price.

If you have flexibility and don't want to put a huge dent in your wallet, Fenway holds a good amount of reasonably priced "Standing Room Only" tickets that are available for purchase on the day of the game only. This requires you to wait in line on Landsdowne Street behind the stadium (the more hyped the game, the earlier you need to wait in line).

With the variety of experiences that Fenway Park and its surrounding neighborhood offers, be sure to make a day out of Fenway if you are in the area!
