Make sure you stay in beachside Venice and take any of Shiva Rea's workshops.
Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health - Stockbridge, Mass.
With its beautiful lake and mountain views, this center comes highly recommended for summer, so you can swim in the lake between classes. A huge range of options.
Yoga, meditation and wellness classes, but you can nourish your body in all ways here: the retreat's mostly vegetarian food is organic and sourced as locally as possible.
White Lotusoffers amazing scenery overlooking the ocean, but also good food (a must-have for Snyder) and an eclectic underground temple.
Hawaii in and of itself is breathtaking, and Kalani is no exception. You’re basically in the middle of the jungle, with access to great class offerings.
This place is famous for its meditation and spiritual-focused retreats. It also has a great farm (and gardens) and thus good food. Esalen’s not inexpensive, but definitely has lots of offer.
Another New England spot (Maine). Gorgeous walking paths, pond and views, but small, which can be nice, depending on what you're going for.
Shambhala is located in Colorado, and really gives you that “in the woods” vibe. I also LOVE to hike, wherever I am, and they have beautiful trails (and gardens) that you can explore.
