The idea behind Help Call is to give you peace of mind when you travel. Should the worst happen and you – or someone in your group – have an accident, then you can use Help Call to contact the local emergency services in the country you are visiting. The app covers 126 countries and provides numbers for police, fire departments and ambulances. You can even shake your iPhone to call an emergency number and you can also include friends as emergency contacts.

Whether you’ve taken a first aid class before and just want a refresher or you’re a complete novice in need of a reference guide, this popular First Aid app can be a real life saver. You’ll find illustrations, videos and descriptive text to ensure that you do the right thing in emergency situations. This is a comprehensive app that covers all kinds of common accident situations.

Android

We all have emergencies of another sort from time to time. What do you do if you’re caught short in unfamiliar territory? Fear not. Sit Or Squat is all about finding restrooms for you. It’s basically a guide to restrooms you can use in the local area. Users can add and rate restrooms. It does require a Facebook sign in, though.
