School's back in session, leaves are beginning to turn, temperatures are dropping and Halloween is just around the corner. 10Best is celebrating the autumn season by hunting down the country's best fall experiences, from Oktoberfests and Halloween events to pick-your-own apple orchards and seasonal beers.
We enlisted a panel of experts to select our 20 nominees in each category, and for the past four weeks, our readers have been voting for their top picks.

Best Apple Orchard: Beak & Skiff Apple Orchard in LaFayette, N.Y.

This family-owned orchard has been growing apples since onion farmer George Skiff and dairy farmer Andrew Beak joined forces in 1911 to plant apples on a hillside along Rte. 20. The rest, as they say, is history. Today, Gala, McIntosh, Ginger Gold and Paula Red are just a few of the varieties offered from late August through late October. Live music events, Cider Fests, Orchard Runs and a Kids' Magic Show add entertainment to the apple picking.
Best Escape Room: Komnata Quest in New York

Intense and unusual are two words Lisa and David of Room Escape Artist used to describe the numerous games at Komnata Quest in New York. Highlights include the Maze of Hakaina and Heir to the Throne.
Best Fall Seasonal Beer: Pump Action Imperial Pumpkin Ale

For many beer enthusiasts, there's nothing quite like a well-brewed pumpkin beer as the leaves begin to turn. That's just what Four Noses Brewing Company crafts with their Pump Action Imperial Pumpkin Ale. It's brewed with real pumpkin puree and a blend of seasonal spices, yielding a strong (8% ABV) and warming beer.
Best Oktoberfest: Reading Liederkranz Oktoberfest in Reading, Pa.

Reading Leiderkranz Oktoberfest in Reading, Pa. celebrates all things Germany with the traditional food and fanfare you'd expect of this time-honored festival. A Biergarten and food vendor booths cook up typical fare, while live music, a roving ventriloquist and magic shows provide more family-friendly entertainment.
Best Theme Park Halloween Event: Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain
Fright Fest takes over Six Flags Magic Mountain for more than two weeks — Photo courtesy of Six Flags Magic Mountain
Seventeen nights of horrifying mazes, roaming zombies and spooky shows await thrill seekers at this famed California theme park – threats so terrifying, in fact, you may just opt for the relative “calm” of riding the world-class roller coasters in the dark instead! Looney Tunes characters and holiday crafts delight wee ones by day, but all bets are off at night when cannibals, ghostly circus performers, man-eating plants and more darken every turn.
Congratulations to all of our fall 2017 winners.
