As April begins, crawfish season is in full swing in Bayou City. Houstonians flock to seafood joints throughout the city to peel, pinch, pull and dip these delicious morsels and wash them down with a cold one. Visit Music City in April, and there's guaranteed to be something going on every weekend, thanks to the city's Awesome April lineup of events. Special events this month include Cheekwood in Bloom, St. Jude Country Music Marathon, Lego Kidfest, Nashville Film Festival and Nashville Fashion Week.
For April travelers with a wanderlust of a more exotic nature, the souqs and palaces of Marrakech beckon. April brings the best weather and the smallest crowds to the Moroccan city, and jaunts into the surrounding valleys will reveal colorful wildflowers in bloom.
Travelers with a serious case of March Madness should make their way to Indianapolis in early April for the much-anticipated NCAA Men's Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium. Once the basketball fans have fled the city, things will return to business as usual: mild temperatures and shoulder-season crowds.

Located between Tampa and Orlando, Lakeland boasts a charming downtown Historic and Antiques District, Florida Southern College with its sizable collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and, most importantly for April visitors, the annual SUN 'n FUN Fly-in, a can't-miss event for flight enthusiasts.
April is sandwiched between Canada's winter hockey season and summer tourist season, making it an ideal month to visit the French-flavored city of Montreal. While temperatures can still be on the chilly side, dropping hotel rates and sparse crowds make it totally worth packing a coat.

Daytime temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit make April an excellent month to take advantage of the many outdoor recreational opportunities in and around Moab, Utah, including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. If you're planning to camp, however, book early, as campgrounds begin to fill up starting as early as March.
In April 2015, Great Smoky Mountains National Park will host the 65th installment of its annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, a five-day event filled with nature walks, art classes, photo contests and seminars celebrating the diverse flora and fauna of the park. Between jaunts in the park, visitors can breath the mountain air (and experience the family-friendly fun) in nearby Gatlinburg.
