    U.S. Open Tennis - Flushing Meadows, Queens, NY

    August 27 marks the beginning of the US Open Tennis Tournament in Flushing Meadows, NY, a prestigious top tennis event, the 4th and final jewel in the Grand Slam crown.  Dating back to 1881, this famous tournament draws fans in to see the top players in the finals take home prize money of over a million dollars each.

    Nantucket Race Week - Nantucket Island, MA

    August 13-21 is Race Week in Nantucket, MA drawing in sailing enthusiasts of all skill levels and boats of all sizes.  Parties are happening all week, along with silent auctions, raffles and great prizes.  It all benefits Nantucket Community Sailing, a non-profit group that helps make sailing and water sports affordable for the public.

  • O2 or Millenium Dome - London, England

    O2 or Millenium Dome - London, England

    The Summer Olympics are underway in London, England, with the whole world watching and cheering on their favorite athletes through August 12 at this most important sporting event.  Catch a part of history watching today's youth in this city of old.  Events take place throughout the region, with the main track and field events taking place in the Millenium Dome, hosting 2,000 athletes competing in 47 events.

  • Chicago Air and Water Show

    Chicago Air and Water Show - Chicago, IL

    On the shores of Lake Michigan, in Chicago, Illinois, the Chicago Air and Water Show has been happening since 1959, with crowds now exceeding over 2,000,000 for this free annual event.  Watch civilian and military pilots perform daredevil stunts while free-style water skiing and boat-jumping thrill.  It's the oldest and largest show of its kind: August 18-19.

    Edinburgh Art Festival - Edinburgh, Scotland

    Started in 2004, the Edinburgh Art Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland promises to have its most ambitious event yet, with over 45 city-wide exhibitions held at various galleries (most are free) and new public commissioned works being shown.   Representing international artists, this is a visual arts exhibition not to be missed.
