Prosit!–Raise Your Glass at the OC Oktoberfest

While Orange County has been the home of many ethnic groups over the centuries, the history of German settlement in the area is of interest. Anaheim was founded by fifty German families in 1857 and gets its name by a blend of “Ana,” after the nearby Santa Ana river, and the German word for home, “Heim.” No wonder Orange County–specifically Huntington Beach-- orchestrates one of the most popular Oktoberfest celebrations on the West Coast.
