    The Gates Hotel Key West is opening its “gates” to guests for an authentic Key West experience, embracing the diversity of culture that makes the southernmost island incomparable. Combining residential inspired design, regionally-inspired dining and drinking, a lively pool deck and creative local partnerships, The Gates offers a festive island getaway for guests and locals alike.

    The Gates is going back in time, as the primary inspiration is midcentury Cuba, played out everywhere from with whitewashed walls, weathered leather and pops of color.

    Amenities, design and participation from local partners are among the keys to The Gates' incomparable personality and appeal, and arrivals can expect to be greeted by staff that embody the philosophy of the hotel and promote fun and relaxation throughout each stay.

    One of the most notable design elements of The Gates is a collection of striking imagery by award-winning photographer Jorge de la Torriente of De La Gallery in Key West. Arrayed on walls of all public spaces and guest rooms, the photography depicts vibrant scenes of South Floridian culture and works well with the neutral tones and splashes of color found throughout the hotel.

    The Gates offers two room categories: The Standard, available in King and Double Queen, provides guests with a stylish stay, perfect for the traveler who needs a quick retreat before heading poolside or exploring the island; The Lifestyle, available in King and Double Queen, located steps from the pool, provides guests easy access to a cool cocktail and a Caribbean tan; and The Scene, available in both King and Double Queen and with views of the pool and/or bay, with a handful even offering direct access to the pool scene directly outside their front doors.

    Texturally diverse, eco-friendly and reclaimed touches of The Gates' guest rooms include exposed whitewashed beams, custom platform beds of hand-washed pine and petrified wood tables imported from Bali.
