Vancouver in the spring offers decent weather, fewer crowds and bargains aplenty. Here are a few reasons why we love Vancouver in the off-season months between winter and summer.
Hotels: During the winter/spring shoulder season, you will find hotel rooms are the most affordable this time of year.
Weather: While some days may be slightly chilly, you're just as likely to find yourself basking in the sunshine and forgetting that there is still snow on the mountains. This time of year brings the best of both worlds and you can ski the snowy slopes or play in a park without freezing your toes off.
Attractions: Before students break out for summer vacations, take advantage of fewer crowds at your favorite Vancouver attractions. Telus World of Science has been recently renovated and there's plenty of neat things to check out and it's a great time to go because you don't have to wait for the person in front of you to finish playing with the exhibit you're interested in. The Vancouver Aquarium is another must-visit attraction in the spring because they offer discounted pricing from September through June.
Sunsets: As long winter days begin to fade, longer spring days start to show off those gorgeous sunsets Vancouverites miss so much. Head to English Bay for a brisk evening stroll and watch the sunset over the Inlet. An added benefit is that you can watch the sunset and then grab dinner along nearby Denman Street.
Flowers in Bloom: If you haven't had the opportunity to walk down a Cherry Blossom tree-lined street, you must visit Vancouver in April for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. From April 4-30, stroll Vancouver's neighborhoods and check out these gorgeous blooms. VanDusen Botanical Gardens and Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden are lovely places to ring in spring.
