Four renowned Croatian architects, Silvije Novak, Saša Begovi, Marko Dabrovi and Tatjana Grozdani Begovi, started 3LHD in 1994. It's an architectural design studio based in Zagreb. The group designed the 248-room Hotel Lone located in the picturesque coastal town of Rovinj.
The Y-shaped building also allows for every single bedroom to have a great view of either the sea or trees from the Monte Mulini forest along the Lone Bay. The hotel is only a ten-minute walk from the central town square.
The soaring lobby is characterized by white-beige stone, designed to reflect the color of the area's beaches. Bright pops of yellow are introduced through minimal, space-like furnishings. The space opens up through mezzanines reaching the top of the hotel.
Unique pieces of art hang in each bedroom, lighting up for a one-of-a-kind light show at night. There are eight different room types available, some, like the Jazz and the Deluxe Lone Suite, feature Jacuzzis on the terrace for relaxing at sunset.
Hotel Lone sits on a sprawling property that leads right up to a personal beach. The pool features a massive sunbathing terrace (with more than 200 lounge chairs on six different levels) and a pool-side bar.
