Choosing what vineyard to visit in Napa Valley can be a question of quantity or quality. You can sign up for a wine tour of the region and taste many different wines in a hectic rush, or you can really savor the amazing, ancient and sometimes mystical process of winemaking at one special vineyard.
If you're interesting in savoring, then Jericho Canyon Vineyard is the place for you.

Nestled in a scenic canyon near the charming town of Calistoga, Jericho Canyon Vineyard is a small winery run by Dale and Marla Bleecher. Unlike some of the bigger wineries in Napa that produce every kind of wine on the market, Jericho Canyon specializes in Bordeaux-style, estate-grown cabernet sauvignon, merlot and sauvignon blanc.
Jericho Canyon is a by-appointment-only winery. In order to cover all the grounds during a visit, it offers a private vineyard tour of the spectacular property in a Polaris ATV, followed by a private tasting. This is just one example of the personal, intimate touches at this family vineyard that make a visit so unique and memorable.

The wine, of course, is the star of the show here – but the setting is a close second. From the depths of the canyon to the peaks of the surrounding hillsides, Jericho Canyon’s steeply terraced vineyard is spectacular. And the family's deep commitment to sustainable farming reveals its love of the land.

Marla Bleecher puts the family's love of wine and land this way: “Wine is an unusual thing. Alive from its birth in the wood of last year’s crop, alive until the moment we swallow it many years later, wine grows, changes and evolves just as we do. In the field, in tank, in barrel and in our mouths, it brings joy and camaraderie and just plain fun to our lives.”
If your love of wine shares ground with a love of the environment, be sure to reserve a visit to Jericho Canyon Vineyard.
