    Founded in 2004, Dohop set out to create a flight search engine that helps travelers find the best possible route between two places at the best price. Dohop has around 1,000 airlines in their system, with an average of 350,000 flight searches made each week. With Dohop Go, travelers can browse tickets from their location to anywhere to find the cheapest options.

  • SpotHero


    According to SpotHero, the average driver spends 15 minutes searching for a parking spot. That’s 15 minutes of valuable vacation time. With SpotHero, drivers can browse for parking spots in a dozen American cities and reserve spots ahead of time. Since SpotHero works with several parking lot operators, drivers can save up to 50 percent off posted prices by using the app.

  • Sixt


    Whether in the U.S. or abroad, Sixt makes car rentals easy and affordable. Sixt has been in the business for over a century, with a high proportion of premium vehicles like BMW, Mercedes and Cadillac, as well as a full range of vehicles for all customer needs. The Sixt app, available for a variety of platforms including iOS and Android, facilitates mobile reservations to save time as well as money.

    Flying isn’t the only way to get around, and with the Wanderu app, travelers can find great deals on bus and train travel throughout North America. Wanderu does the hard work of finding connections, then instantly directs users to each carrier’s ticket purchasing page, making it easy to book an entire trip in just a few clicks.

    Whether road-tripping or renting, travelers getting around by car can quickly compare hourly, daily, weekly and even monthly parking rates at 12,000 parking lots and garages in 105 cities and 115 airports throughout North America with the help of and the corresponding app. Site users also have access to exclusive coupons and specials, which translates to less money in the parking budget and more for the fun stuff.

  • Gas Guru

    Gas Guru

    Filling up at the pump can quickly drain a travel budget, but Gas Guru minimizes the damage by helping drivers find the cheapest gas prices in the area. The app features directions to gas stations, the time of the last gas price update, the ability to filter a search by fuel grade and the option to save favorite gas locations for easy reference. The app is powered by Yellow Pages, so it also offers listings for nearby restaurants, ATMs and car service stations.

    KAYAK and its accompanying mobile app make online flight booking easier (and cheaper) by searching a variety of travel sites for the best fares. For travelers without specific dates or destinations in mind, the Explore feature displays the cheapest flights to destinations around the world from any given city or country – perfect travel inspiration. Site users can set up custom price alerts to find out when fares change, and the site's Top 10 Deal Destinations tracks cities with the biggest drop in airfare for those who can't pass up a good deal.

  • Zipcar


    The founders of Zipcar had a vision of bringing a European-style car-sharing concept to North America. Zipcar members have access to a worldwide network of thousands of cars – no need to spend extra money on renting or owning a vehicle. An added bonus: programs like Zipcar mean fewer cars on the road, less traffic congestion and a smaller carbon footprint. Zipcar members use a Zipcard to book a variety of vehicles by the hour or the day, and memberships start at under $10 a month.

    GasBuddy offers updated fuel prices at nearly 130,000 stations throughout North America, helping travelers save on gas on cross-country road trips or sightseeing jaunts through a city. Information is available through the website or mobile app. Fuel market insights from GasBuddy analysts forecast whether prices are heading up or down, which can help travelers create a more accurate budget for future trips.

    The work of a group of Danish developers, momondo is a free, independent flight search site that offers an un-manipulated listing of global flight prices, so travelers can rest assured they’re getting the best deals. Site users simply search and compare the cheapest, fastest or best value fares, and with one click, momondo redirects to the relevant company for easy booking. The Trip Finder feature allows travelers to find the perfect destination based on time frame, geographic location, type of activities and travel budget.
