Campgrounds offer a place to rest up and recharge in the great outdoors but some campgrounds offer a more memorable experience than others. These campgrounds, selected by popular vote of our readers, have been chosen as the ten best campgrounds in the country.

    This Ohio KOA campground occupies 100 acres (40 of them wooded) with its own 5-acre stocked fishing pond. Guests enjoy access to a dog park, swimming pool, wifi, basketball court and workout room. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent.

    Imagination Mountain Campground Resort is located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Tent camping is available on streamside pads with electricity and water or on off-stream primitive sites with no utilities. Among its amenities, the campground includes daily trash pick-up, mountain stream fishing, and crafts and games for the kids.

    Just a short drive from Charleston, this county park campground offers access to 643 acres of natural beauty. Sites feature full hookups, fire rings and picnic tables, and other amenities include laundry facilities, ceramic bathhouses, free wifi and an activity center. Shuttle service makes it easy to get to Charleston for the day.

    Platte River Campground is located within walking distance of both the river and the beaches of Lake Michigan, within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on the lower peninsula of Michigan. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table, with restrooms and showers available in each camp section. For more primitive campers, the White Pine "backcountry" campground is available on a nearby trail.

    This campground in Southeastern Vermont serves as a base for adventure in the Green Mountains. Amenities include hookups, a swimming pool, dog park, wifi, walking trails and a calendar full of scheduled activities during summer.

    Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort caters to RV and tent campers with this 750-acre campground shaded by pine and cypress trees. Guests have access to a swimming pool and waterslide and splash pad.
