Held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, the West Coast Nationals is "the big one for the West Coast hot rod guys," says expert Joel Kokoska. The event brings together more than 3,500 rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, imports and trucks made through 1998. Additional activities include the Goodguys AutoCross, the Nitro Thunderfest Dragster Exhibition, the WEME Miniature Engine Display & Model/Pedal Car Show, a swap meet and more.

Prior to starting The Drive, Guy was the digital director of Maxim and an articles editor at Details. Earlier in his career, Guy was an editor and feature writer for Rolling Stone. He has written for publications including Playboy, GQ, and Vanity Fair, and his articles on motorsports were included in the Best American Sports Writing anthology.
