Each autumn, farms across the United States transform their cornfields into interactive mazes, perfect for a fall family outing. There are more than 500 of these mazes across the nation, but 10Best Editors, along with a panel of experts, have narrowed it down to 20 of the most exemplary, both for the quality of the maze itself and for the wealth of other activities on offer. 
 
The top 10 winners in the category Best Corn Mazes are as follows:

A panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote.

    Host to the largest continually running corn maze in the state, Treworgy’s Family Orchard’s maze covers over four acres and consists of 60,000 corn plants grown to a height of ten feet. Each year, family members design and plant a new maze using traditional surveying and drafting methods. This year’s design honors the popular children’s story “Charlotte’s Web,” complete with Charlotte the spider, Wilbur the pig, and Templeton the rat!

  • Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

    Cherry Crest Adventure Farm
    Ronks, Penn.

    Located in Pennsylvania’s Dutch Country, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm’s Amazing Maize Maze covers five acres and includes over two miles of paths. Guests spend an hour or more navigating the maze with the help of Maze Masters, plus clues and a gameboard. The 2021 maze celebrates the work of hometown heroes and the roles of local and national emergency services in keeping communities safe.

    Exploration Acres
    Lafayette, Ind.

    From mid-September through October, visit Exploration Acres’ 22-acre corn maze about an hour north of Indianapolis. This year’s maze celebrates Indiana racing, which is a rich part of the state’s history. Indianapolis is home to the world-famous Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400, which thousands of tourists attend every year. The corn maze features Indy-style and NASCAR cars, plus NHRA Dragsters and motorcycle images in its 2021 design.

    Treinen Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch
    Lodi, Wis.

    Each fall, Angie Treinen of Treinen Farm designs a new corn maze and her husband Alan cuts it into the cornfield by hand ... no GPS! Navigating the maze can take anywhere from 45 minutes to several hours. Those who want an even bigger challenge can tackle the circle maze. The 2021 maze is titled "The Schrödinger's Cat and Other Thought Experiments Maze."

  • Denver Downs Farm

    Denver Downs Farm invites guests to navigate through their twelve-acre corn maze and find the twelve hidden checkpoints in numerical order. Travelers can use their phones to record times at each checkpoint and when they finish the maze, and will be entered in a drawing for prizes if their’s is the fastest time! This South Carolina Century Farm in Anderson County has been owned and operated by the same family since 1869.

  • Happy Day Farm

    Manalapan, N.J.

    The 10-acre Happy Day Farm corn maze offers visitors the chance to play a game of Maize-O-Poly with a purpose-made game board. Maze trekkers who yearn the most money get crowned “Farmer of the Ear.” Visitors can answer trivia questions by text message to get hints on which way to turn.

  • Maze Craze

    Maze Craze
    New Springfield, Ohio

    Come and get lost in New Springfield, Ohio, at Maze Craze! The 2021 corn maze will have a “Snow White” theme, complete with the evil queen and dwarves! Over 21 acres of corn, with four different maze difficulties to choose from, and open from mid-September through the end of October. Plan to spend anywhere from ninety minutes to three hours as you wind your way through the corn to complete all four challenges!

  • Cornbelly's

    Cornbelly's
    Lehi, Utah

    Each autumn, Cornbelly’s in Utah debuts a new corn maze with 8 acres of pathways, interactive games and trivia. Visitors also enjoy a kiddie maze for little ones, grain train rides and a completely separate haunted maze featuring animatronics and live spooks.

  • Richardson Adventure Farm

    Richardson Adventure Farm
    Spring Grove, Ill.

    Located about ninety minutes north of Chicago, the corn maze located at the Richardson Adventure Farm claims to be the world’s largest, with over nine miles of trails winding through 28 acres of live corn. Four smaller mazes combine to create the more extensive maze, and each of the smaller mazes has its own dedicated in and out path. With multiple checkpoints, three bridges, and a perimeter path surrounding the entire maze, visitors can choose to do one maze or all four. If you’re up for the challenge, Richardson Adventure Farm Corn Maze invites you to “come on out and get lost!”
