Best fried chicken sandwich in Georgia? PDQ in Augusta!

Best Fried Chicken Sandwich in Georgia (2017)
While the Southern culinary tradition extends well beyond fried chicken, there's something about a crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside piece of perfectly browned poultry that gets our mouths watering.
The history of this Southern staple was brought to the U.S. by Scottish immigrants, who fried their chicken in fat rather than baking – a method more common among immigrants from other parts of Europe. Some of these Scottish immigrants settled in the South, and when slaves were brought over from Africa to work as cooks, they added their own twist to the dish. Today, fried chicken enjoys universal appeal with many interpretations. And in Georgia, it's found its way into the sandwich.
