Michigan haunted house features four floors of scares

Halloween means costumes, horror movies, haunted houses and a celebration of all things scary. 'Tis the season for terror, and 10Best is on a mission to find the best haunted attractions in the U.S. 

  • Erebus Haunted Attraction
    Pontiac, Mich.

    Erebus offers four floors of thrills and chills featuring Hollywood-quality special effects. Measuring more than half a mile, it’s one of the world’s largest haunted attractions.

  • Headless Horseman Hayrides & Haunted Houses
    Ulster Park, N.Y.

    New York's Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses comprises a whopping 10 attractions, including the popular and spine-tingling Horseman's Spawn Hayride, Dark Harvest Corn Maze and several walk-through haunted houses. The haunt recently added The Great Room Escape (separate ticket), an immersive escape room game.   Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses encompasses 65 acres in the Historic Hudson Valley.  Our event is galloping into its 27th season and continues to expand with a theatrical one-mile hayride, corn maze, 8 additional haunted attractions, 5 eateries, 4 giftshops, and an operating cast and crew of 375 people.  The event continually evolves with unusual monsters, amazing illusions, stunning special effects, original costumes, makeup, animations, and frightening detail.

  • Containment Haunted House
    Lithia Springs, Ga.

    One of Atlanta’s favorite haunts, Containment Haunted House encompasses 26 shipping containers linked together into a terrifying maze of unusual scares. Scenes are designed to be interactive and intense.

  • Field of Screams
    Mountville, Penn.

    At Field of Screams, four scare zones provide the thrills: Haunted Hayride, Den of Darkness, FrightMare Asylum and Nocturnal Wasteland, while an entertainment area offers live music, games and giveaways between thrills. The haunt hosts a one-night-only blackout event for even more intense scares.

  • Columbia City Haunted Jail
    Columbia City, Ind.

    The Haunted Jail has been completely redesigned in 2019, including a new Catacombs attraction and the option to purchase a Super Ticket to skip the line entirely. Visitors can take hop group reaction shots of the terror captured by the Scream Cam.

  • Queen Mary's Dark Harbor
    Long Beach, Calif.

    Dark Harbor gets its extreme factor from its setting – the iconic Queen Mary, drenched in legend and oozing with a sordid past. Regarded as one of the most haunted places on Earth, the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor is a thrill-seekers’ delight, blurring the lines of history and hysteria.     Haunted Overload in New Hampshire does an excellent job of providing various levels of scares, so everyone can enjoy. They pull out all the stops for Haunted Overload, a fully immersive (and terrifying) haunted trail through the New England woods.

  • Midnight Terror Haunted House
    Oak Lawn, Ill.

    Midnight Terror Haunted House underwent a complete renovation of every room in 2018 to bring a more thrilling and chilling experience this year. This haunt progresses through 26,000 square feet of themed scare zones, like Factory of Malum, Black Oak Grove and Chainsaw Alley.

  • Dungeon of Doom
    Zion, Ill.

    Dungeon of Doom offers 60 minutes of horror in a walk-through haunted house in the old Briquette Factory in Zion. Watch out for Shank the Clown, Imma Cutter, Biscuit the Butcher, Sr. Sin, Kalamity, the Night Stalker and other members of the Killer Crew along the way.

  • Dead Man's Farm
    Loudon, Tenn.

    Dead Man's Farm opens at a brand new location in 2019 with new structures and chilling scares. Visitors can navigate the haunted Bludgeon House, test themselves in two five-minute escape rooms, try to escape from an electric chair or experience what it’s like to get buried alive in a coffin simulator.
