Best Horse Racing Track
Monmouth Park has been a part of the Jersey Shore experience since 1870, but after 20 years, track betting was outlawed and the park was forced to close. Finally, in 1946, horse racing returned and has been running ever since at this picturesque spot. Located just 2 miles from the ocean, this thoroughbred racing track runs from May to September. The Monmouth Stakes and the Haskell are this track's most famous races, with pedigrees dating back to the early times of Monmouth Park's first iteration. The convivial atmosphere here goes into high gear with special festivals during the season.
