Sable Kitchen & Bar, The Sazerac Bar, White Buffalo Bar and Off the Record in top five

You don't have to be a guest to pull up a stool and enjoy these 10 hotel bars, voted the best in the U.S. thanks to their ambiance, stellar mixologists, signature cocktails, food menus and happy hours.

Broken Shaker (Freehand Miami)
Just a few years ago, a hip little cocktail bar opened up inside the Freehand Hostel on Miami Beach. Today, it is one of the most well-known and sought out places to enjoy a well-crafted drink for a reasonable price. Frequented by locals, tourists, and those in-the-know, the Broken Shaker is paradise for anyone who wants a high-end cocktail without the fuss of many of SoBe's other bars and lounges. Mercantile Social (Andaz Napa)
Located within Andaz Napa, Mercantile Social pours some of the best boutique wines from around Napa Valley, alongside a menu of creative seasonal cocktails, local craft beers and light bites made from local products and ingredients. Photo courtesy of Andaz Napa
Mandarin Bar (Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas)
Located on the 23rd floor of the non-gaming Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, Mandarin Bar is one of the city's most sleek and sophisticated nightlife venues. Guests can drink up the stunning Strip views courtesy of the bar's floor-to-ceiling windows while imbibing one of its expertly crafted cocktails. In addition to a menu of creative alcoholic concoctions, the bar offers a variety of fine wines and delicious light bites, making it the perfect place to kick back and relax before or after dinner.  Photo courtesy of Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas
The Driskill Bar (The Driskill - Austin)
The Driskill is one of Austin's most iconic hotels, and inside sits The Driskill Bar, a Texas watering hole through and through. Overstuffed leather sofas create multiple nooks and seating areas, while mounted cattle heads and paintings of the American West hang from the walls. The Driskill hosts live music nearly every night. Proof on Main (21C Museum Hotel - Louisville)
The 21C Museum Hotel in Louisville, a Kentucky establishment famous for its own art galleries, also a great bar with a nice collection of – you guessed it – bourbons. The menu is playful while keeping its sophistication, so you'll see items like cotton candy next to yellowfin tuna crudo. A number of small plates options are available. Off the Record (The Hay-Adams - Washington)
Caricatures of past presidents and political figures adorn the cherry red walls of this classic DC bar inside The Hay-Adams. The scotch list shines alongside wine and cocktails in this space where well heeled (or at least well dressed) tourists mingle with locals, lobbyists and politicians. White Buffalo Bar (Gage Hotel - Marathon, Texas)
The White Buffalo Bar, a legendary watering hole inside the Gate Hotel in the town of Marathon near Big Bend National Park, is famous for its extensive tequila list and fresh squeezed margaritas. Guests can sip them on a patio or by the fireplace under the watchful gaze of a mountain white buffalo head while munching on what Texas Monthly named one of the best burgers in the state. The Sazerac Bar (The Roosevelt New Orleans)
Named after the world's first mixed drink (according to some), The Sazerac Bar has been quenching New Orleans's thirst for decades. Located within The Roosevelt New Orleans, this classic space features an African walnut bar and murals by Paul Ninas; it was once a popular haunt of politician Huey P. Long. Sable Kitchen & Bar (Hotel Palomar Chicago)
Adjacent to Kimpton's Hotel Palomar Chicago in a quiet, darker setting sits Sable Kitchen & Bar. Sable is a gastro-lounge that pairs seasonally-inspired New American small plates presented by Executive Chef Shane Graybeal, with an artfully designed cocktail, spirits and wine program presented by talented Head Bartender Mike Jones. Refinery Rooftop (Refinery Hotel - New York)
The crown atop the Refinery Hotel in NYC, Refinery Rooftop is where the Big Apple's young and beautiful come for stunning views beneath the shadow of the Empire State Building.
