Winning restaurant serves European fare with a Louisiana twist

Some of America's best restaurants helmed by talented and often award-winning chefs can be found within hotels and resorts from coast to coast. 

  • Jack Rose
    Pontchartrain Hotel - New Orleans

    Jack Rose, situated within the historic Pontchartrain Hotel in the Garden District, celebrates NOLA’s love of food with a menu of Italian, French and Spanish dishes with a Louisiana twist. Standouts include duck and andouille gumbo, crawfish bisque with bay leaf cream, house made pimento cheese and roast duck with grits, black kale and hunter’s sauce.

  • Circa 1886
    Wentworth Mansion - Charleston

    Circa 1886 is set in the original carriage house on the grounds of the Wentworth Mansion and showcases many original elements from 1886, including wide pine floors boards, wood burning fireplace and stable doors. Many tables are set in arched booths, walls are carved wood, and the place is lit by candlelight. An ever-changing seasonal menu showcases the best and freshest local and regional ingredients cooked with Southern flair, and the combination of cuisine and atmosphere is hard to beat.

    The Royal Hawaiian - Honolulu

    Azure at the Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki sits on the beachfront and specializes in fresh island seafood, often purchased directly from the nearby Honolulu fish auction each morning. Sommeliers are on hand to help pair your meal with the perfect wine.

  • The Thistle Inn Restaurant
    The Thistle Inn - Boothbay Harbor, Maine

    Diners at The Thistle Inn are seated in four dining rooms, each with its own unique atmosphere for a romantic dinner. The menu changes with the seasons, but might include options like New England clam chowder, mussels sautéed in white wine with butter roasted garlic, lobster paella or char-grilled sirloin tips.

    The Umstead Hotel and Spa - Cary, N.C.

    James Beard semifinalist Steven Devereaux Greene designs the seasonally inspired menus at Herons, inspired by produce harvested from a dedicated farm nearby. Dishes might include a fresh summer gazpacho with crab, strawberry and yuzu juice, local scallops with Charleston gold rice and sea urchin custard, or halibut with blue polenta.

    Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver

    This restaurant inside the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver serves award-winning Italian fare crafted from organic, sustainable and local ingredients, paired with an extensive wine list. Options include bolognese made with beef, wild boar and pork belly, ricotta ravioli with burnt basil and pecorino, or farro risotto with kale and wild mushrooms.
