    Santa Fe hosts a truly New Mexican New Year's Eve party on Santa Fe Plaza each year, with piñon bonfires, hot chocolate and biscochitos, local live music and the raising of a Zia symbol at the stroke of midnight.

    Quirky Key West throws an equally quirky party for the New Year, which includes four New Year's Eve drops–a conch shell at Sloppy Joe's Bar, a red high heel carrying the diva Sushi at Bourbon St. Pub, a key lime wedge at Ocean Key Resort & Spa and a pirate wench at Salute Key West.

    San Antonio's iconic River Walk sets the stage for the city's annual New Year's Eve celebration, where shops, restaurants, bars and galleries stay open late as revelers enjoy fireworks, live music and parties.

    What's more magical than ringing in the New Year with fireworks? Ringing it in with fireworks over Cindarella's Castle! Disney, Universal and SeaWorld parks stay open late for midnight fireworks, while grownups can head to adults-only parties at Universal CityWalk, International Drive or several Disney properties.

    Lake Tahoe plays host to numerous NYE events, including the popular Heavenly Holidays New Year's Eve Celebration which culminates in a gondola ball drop at midnight. Several resorts host fireworks, including Squaw Valley, Northstar and Mt. Rose, and the 21+ crowd can head to parties like the Squaw Valley Prom or Crystal Bay Club Casino NYE in Tahoe.

    New Year's Eve has a tropical twist in Honolulu, where revelers can take part in the festivities of a beachfront luau or watch fireworks explode over Waikiki Beach from a cruise. The Aloha Tower Marketplace hosts a big NYE bash, complete with food trucks, fireworks and live music on multiple stages.

    Louisiana

    The people of NOLA know how to party, and New Year's Eve is no exception. Jackson Square is the center of the action, where crowds gather for live music as they await the fleur-de-lis drop and fireworks show above the Mighty Mississippi. The clubs of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter keep the party going well into the early morning hours, while restaurants around town host reveillon dinners.
