It's ski season, and USA TODAY 10Best set out to find North America's top skiing and snowboarding resorts. We recruited a panel of pro skiers and snowboarders (including several Olympians) to nominate their 20 favorite North American resorts, and our readers have been voting daily for their favorites for the past four weeks. The results are in, and we have a winner!

A panel of experts picked the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote. Experts Abby Ghent, Caroline Gleich, Elena Hight and Megan McJames were chosen based on their extensive ski and snowboard experience.
Other nominees for Best Ski Resort included Alyeska Resort, Bridger Bowl, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Mt. Baker, Park City Mountain Resort, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, Sun Valley Resort and Telluride Ski Resort.

Abby Ghent has ski racing in her blood. As the daughter of former U.S. team members and coaches she is bound to make it big. Growing up in Vail, CO she has worked with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail since the beginning, the program that helped produce both Lindsey Vonn and Sarah Schleper. Ghent was the fastest female super G skier on the NorAm circuit in 2015 and now has a World Cup Super G start for the 2015/16 World Cup season. Following last seasons few World Cup starts this year could be her year to break into the top 30 racers.

Kauai born and Lake Tahoe raised, Elena Hight is a stand out amongst professional snowboarding’s best. At 13 years old, Elena became the first female to land a 900 in competition. She went on to win 6 X-games medals, attend two Winter Olympics and in 2013, became the first snowboarder, male or female, to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo at the Winter X Games. Always at the forefront of progression, Elena has lead the way throughout her competition career and continues to do so stepping into big mountain riding. In addition to snowboarding, Elena’s passions lie in outdoor adventure, health and wellness and advocating for environmental protection.

Megan McJames is a two-time Olympic skier and a student of finance at Westminster College who loves adventure, mountains, baking and laughing with friends and family. For the past four winters, Megan has represented the United States on the World Cup Alpine tour independent of the national team which means that she is raising her own money to compete. She believes in passion & perseverance and hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams despite setbacks.
