A panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote.

  • Crown Point Vineyards

    Private tasting experiences at Crown Point Vineyards include a 90-minute personalized tour of the property, known for its Bordeaux varieties. Walk through the vineyard to learn more about the wines and sit down for a tasting and cheese pairing amid the Santa Ynez landscape.

  • Gundlach Bundschu

    Gundlach Bundschu
    Sonoma, Calif.

    Just five minutes from historic Sonoma Plaza, historic Gundlach Bundschu at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains invites guests to tour the 320-acre aboard a Pinzgauer – an Austrian military vehicle capable of going off road. Visitors can also tour the vineyards and barrel caves on foot.

    Benziger Family Winery

    Visitors to Benziger Family Winery in Sonoma have five tour and tasting options to choose from. The exclusive Tribute Estate Tour takes visitors behind the scenes for a close-up look at the biodynamic vineyards and winemaking facilities, with a barrel tasting along the way. Visitors can also take a tram tour of the vineyards to learn more about biodynamic farming.

  • Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery

    Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery
    Hammondsport, NY

    Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery, located in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York, previously offered informative group vineyard tours, including barrel tasting events. Since the pandemic, the winery has launched a Progressive Tasting Experience, which 10Best's Food and Drink Editor Kae Lani Palmisano considers “the most interesting and adapted wine tour (in the region).” The winery provides guided instructional tastings for small groups, with five different tasting stations, each having a theme-related selection of wines.

    ACORN Winery in the Russian River Valley specializes in field-blending techniques, which you can learn about during a tasting and vineyard walk with owners Bill and Betsy Nachbaur.

    Chimney Rock Winery, located in the beautiful Napa Valley of California, offers three 90-minute daily explorations of their estate in specially designed touring carts. Guests will hear the story of Chimney Rock's history and winemaking and sample Cabernet Sauvignon in the vineyard where the grapes are grown.

    Tours of the Bella Wines farmstead take visitors through the vineyards and property, tracing the process of winemaking from the vine to the glass. Sip sparkling wine as you wander past the farm’s animals, fruit trees and gardens.

    Just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County, California, Small Wines Winery hosts intimate, private tours and tastings at their Wine Barn. The owners invite you to raise a glass of one of their unique wines with them as they welcome you at their lovely facility out in the vineyard.

  • Cline Cellars

    Cline Cellars

    Visitors to Cline Cellars can choose between a private tour and tasting through the historic estate or the Syrah Hill Experience, which includes a trip to the top of Syrah Hill for views over the surrounding scenery.

    Throughout the year, wine lovers and the casually curious are invited to tour the grounds of Fenn Valley Vineyards in beautiful Western Michigan. This educational and entertaining experience lasts just under two hours, taking visitors into the vineyards or the wine cellar to learn more about the process. Wine samples are served throughout.
