The Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium, located just west of Phoenix in the town of Litchfield Park, recently announced the addition of two female California Sea Lions to its collection of more than 600 aquatic, avian and terrestrial species. These are the first sea lions on permanent display in Arizona in about 40 years, as well as the only marine mammals currently in the state.

The new sea lion exhibit at the popular zoo and aquarium features an indoor pool made from materials specially designed for a saltwater environment. The sea lion habitat has its own kitchen, food prep and refrigerated storage area, as well as indoor and outdoor dry haul out areas. Visitors to Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium will be able to read educational graphs about sea lion behavior, and TV monitors will show a short informative video as visitors make their way to the indoor viewing panel.
Visitors will also be able to watch as Wildlife World staff members conduct daily feedings and voluntary husbandry training sessions. Energetic, friendly and fun to watch, the young sea lions are expected to draw steady crowds. An additional outdoor exhibit pool and public educational demonstrations are in the works and expected to open this fall.
