Constructed in 1947, the Hanny's building at the southwest corner of Adam's and 1st Streets in downtown Phoenix is one of the city's most iconic buildings. Once a fashionable department store, the building is now home to Hanny's, a hip restaurant-bar-lounge that is a favorite late-night stop for the closing time crowd. The kitchen cooks until 1 am, the bar pours until 1:30 am, and the dj spins (almost) all night. The menu, with its emphasis on gourmet pizza and highbrow take on bar plates, is particularly appealing after a night of dancing and drinking. But nothing quite rivals the drink menu at Hanny's, which proudly boasts its selection of absinthe and 1947-era cocktails. Come here to see, be seen and revel in the afterglow of another time.
