The Phoenix food scene has never been more diverse and exciting, especially when it comes to eating healthy. A spate of new eateries have brought fresh eating to all corners of the city.

One of the newest restaurants in Phoenix with a healthy menu is Flower Child, another restaurant from the mega-successful Fox Restaurant Concepts group. Flower Child has an eclectic menu full of organic salads, whole grain wraps, bowls and hot pots, and vegetable plates. Try the watermelon and heirloom tomato salad, a sweetly refreshing mix of romaine, mint, basil, goji berry, pistachios, goat cheese and a house-made apple cider vinaigrette.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy a healthy yet delicious breakfast, head to the Pomegranate Cafe. This cozy breakfast, brunch and lunch spot dishes out unique and tasty offerings like their popular breakfast burrito, which is stuffed with your choice of egg or tofu, a harvest hash, seasonal veggies, anasazi beans, your choice of vegan or cheddar cheese, and then is wrapped in a large spinach tortilla. 

For a healthy menu based on the principles of the anti-inflammatory diet, head to True Food Kitchen. The restaurant is the brainchild of Dr. Andrew Weil, renown health and wellness guru. 



Desert Roots Kitchen is a vegan and vegetarian cafe tucked away in a colorful alley in downtown Tempe. This all-vegan restaurant features a diverse menu of American comfort food and ethnic specialty dishes. Fresh ingredients and ingenious preparation ensures that even the most ardent meat-lover won't miss a thing. Appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, desserts, and variety of specialty beverages can make it hard to pick from the extensive menu. "You don't have to be a die-hard Yogi to dine at True Food Kitchen," is the house motto at True Food Kitchen in Scottsdale. Even if you don't consider yourself a health nut or foodie connoisseur, chances are you'll find something to love on the eclectic (and healthy) menu. True Food Kitchen has built a menu based on the principles of anti-inflammatory eating, where food is used to repair the damage caused by the daily stress of living. That doesn't mean the food is not delicious. Take a bite out of the Turkey Lasagna, which is stuffed with fresh spinach, creamy ricotta cheese, and organic tomato. There is a separate lactose-free and gluten-free menu, for example, so this is a good spot to accommodate larger groups.
