As the mercury starts to climb across the "Valley of the Sun," Scottsdale hotels and resorts are bringing their A game to keep guests cool and comfortable.
In Scottsdale, this means lots of shaded patios with misters, refreshing cocktails and, maybe best of all, pool parties every weekend.
Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale is keeping things cool this summer in more ways than one. The resort is hosting a summer-long pool concert series that will bring top rock, pop and country acts to Scottsdale. Plus, daytime pool parties are planned for every weekend of these warmer months.

Live music fans can enjoy live performances from country hit-makers Chris Young and Thompson Square (May 29); rockers Whitesnake (June 5); Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick (June 14); rap-reggae-rock group 311 (July 2); Sublime with Rome (July 19); The Steve Miller Band (July 30); and classic rockers Yes with TOTO (Sept. 4).
The pool-side Summer Concert Series winds down for the season with legendary Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd on Sept. 20.
The outdoor pool-side performance space at Talking Stick features a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting. The concerts are scheduled for 8 p.m. – perfect for enjoying the last shades of lingering daylight and cooler outdoor weather. Pricing varies for all concerts.
For music fans who love the VIP treatment (And who doesn't?), a limited number of private cabanas are available for the concerts. Cabanas include misters, a live stream of the show, a personal refrigerator stocked with nonalcoholic beverages and access to the VIP party deck.
Cabana rental prices vary according to date and must be reserved in advance. They sell out quickly, so early reservations are highly recommended.
Along with live music concerts, the pool at Talking Stick is also bringing back its seasonal summer pool party series, "Release."
Release pool parties happen every Saturday and Sunday May through September from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Hours may be different on concert nights.)
These 21-plus events feature drink specials; promotional giveaways; and performances from some of the best club DJs from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Miami and points beyond.
There's a cover charge to attend summer pool parties; the cover charge varies on holidays and special events.
As for a dress code, partygoers are asked to don their most fashionable swimwear. This is Scottsdale, after all, where high fashion is part of the fun.
Talking Stick Resort requests no outside food, drinks or alcohol for pool events, but a poolside bar serves up beer, wine and cocktails. There's also a bar and grill menu, with sandwiches, salads and drinks that you can enjoy while lounging poolside.
