Scottsdale On a Budget: Affordable Hotels & Cheap Getaways in the Desert

Scottsdale is well-known for its glitzy hotel resort scene, but the city is also home to more modestly-priced lodgings.

Case in point: the 3 Palms Hotel, located just east of downtown Scottsdale. What used to be a budget chain motel was updated with stylish touches, like a swanky lobby and plush bedding in the guestrooms. There's a large outdoor pool and spa, a rooftop sundeck, fitness center and a spa suite, so you can enjoy resort amenities without the resort price tag.

If you're looking for a convenient place to stay in downtown Scottsdale, you can't beat the Chaparral Suites. This hotel resort is clean, comfortable and family-friendly. There's a large lobby (with exotic birds on display, no less), room service, a sports bar on the fourth floor and spacious guestrooms and suites. It's also just a couple of blocks from many of downtown Scottsdale's biggest attractions.

If you're planning a visit to north Scottsdale, the SpringHill Suites Scottsdale North is convenient to the Loop 101, the WestWorld event center, Kierland Commons, TPC golf course and the Mayo Clinic. Free hot breakfast is available in the lobby every morning, and the rooms are comfortable, with a calming, earthy color palette accented with bright Southwestern flourishes. It's ideal for business travelers, but comfortable for families, as well.
