Owned by three friends, this is a popular lounge spot in Vienna's 8th district. Sporting a chic, vibrant look with plenty of couches, the Albertgasse 39 lets in plenty of natural light during the daylight hours courtesy of its tall windows. At night, though, the lights are dimmed low to set the mood. Locals come here to pass the evenings with the help of good food, friends new and old, and of course, the extensive list of creative cocktails.

Inviting the best electronic artists from all over Europe, this place is always loaded with energy and keeps the crowd upbeat with the latest and greatest in musical performance technology. The positive changes in Vienna's nightlife scene over the last decade have been due in large part to the bass booming and beat bumping showcased at Rhiz during that time.
One of the first and most popular clubs in an area that is now full of clubs: the "Bermuda Dreieck." Each evening begins with some smooth jazz, then the hips begin to swing and you head into the night to the pulse of Latin-American rhythms.
Stunningly lit disco club on the Ringstrasse. Best 70s and 80s hits are played on Tuesdays for "Bachelor Club" night. The "Cosmopolitan Club" on Wednesdays brings R'n'B and House music to the dance floor. Thursday is "Between Club" night: anything from old-time German sing-a-longs to 90s hits. There's house music at Friday night's "Club Fusion"; and on Saturdays the "Sunshine Club" promises premium dance music at its best.
Incredibly atmospheric and stylish bar and restaurant, with furnishings, decorations and objets d'art collected from around the world to create an old-English colonial style. Among the regular special events are a "Hemingway Remix" night, "Rat Pack" night, and "Décadance" night. There's really good food in the Restaurant Livingstone, and plenty to drink: 300 cocktails and plenty of spirits including 30 types of brandy and whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland, America, Canada and Japan.
Guests over the years have included Prince, Kurt Cobain, Johnny Depp and Courtney Love; Falco was a regular. After a 6-month renovation at the end of 2005, U4 added the newest technology and regained its former glory. Mondays swap between Italo-club and 80s night; Tuesdays are student nights; Wednesdays feature live gigs by local bands; Thursday is rock night; Fridays are for the house club; and on Saturdays you can catch disco-fever.
Situated in the Millenium City on the banks of the Danube and easy to reach by train or underground, this is for party-people. There are 2 dance floors: the Danceclub for dance-hits old and new, and the Talstation which simulates an Apres-Ski atmosphere. Every Wednesday there's the After-Job-Party with entry and buffet, and a cocktail happy-hour from 6pm to 10pm. Thursday is ladies' night, and Saturday is singles night when over 25s get a free bottle of Prosecco.
As well as a good selection of cocktails, the Sky Bar has an impressive list of wines, beers and spirits. If you are going on to dine in the restaurant, you can choose from the "before dinner" cocktails list and there is an "after dinner" list awaiting your return. Live piano music on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and on every evening, there is a great view across the Vienna skyline. Take the lift in the forecourt of Steffl department store on the Kaerntnerstrasse.
Based on the concept of flexibility and mobility, the program ranges from reggae night on Tuesday to hip-hop & R'n'B night on Saturday. You can swing your hips on "Salsa Afterwork" Thursdays or look out for and go along to a one-off event. It is a great location: wander through the peaceful, manicured gardens between the Burgtheater and the Hofburg during the day, and return at night to one of the liveliest atmospheres in the city.
Since 1993, Porgy & Bess has been entertaining jazz fans in Vienna. Musicians from Austria and around the world come to play here, and the club is one of the driving forces of the Vienna Jazz Festival. Music every night from 8:30pm. Closed from mid-July until beginning of September.
