Over the years, Catalina has hosted such well-known jazz artists as Dizzy Gillespie, Branford Marsalis, Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner and Chick Corea. Reputedly one of the very best places to hear jazz in the LA area, it attracts its fair share of well-known patrons too, like Clint Eastwood and David Bowie. The menu offers a bit of everything, from pasta and fish to steak and salads. Cover charges vary, and there is a two-drink minimum. Be sure to make reservations – the club is small and very popular.
