If fast food hamburgers have burned you out on this American classic altogether, don’t give up on burgers just yet: Indian Wells is home to a new upscale burger joint that will have you falling in love with all-beef patties all over again.
In August, Indian Wells welcomed the Coachella Valley’s first Eureka! restaurant, a small California chain that focuses on local, wholesome ingredients and American-made beers and spirits.
The burgers are the crown jewel at Eureka!, and it’s easy to see why. The buns are freshly baked each day, and the hamburger patties only use all-natural beef that’s vegetarian-fed and free of both hormones and antibiotics. Top it off with artisan creations like fig marmalade with goat cheese or a fried egg with spicy chipotle sauce, and you have a recipe for a hamburger you won’t soon forget.

House favorites include the Cowboy Burger - made with shoestring onion rings, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese and homemade barbeque sauce - and the Vodka Burger, topped with peppers, prosciutto, Havarti cheese and capers flambéed in vodka.
Veggie and turkey patties are also available, and you can skip the bun in favor of a bed of arugula, if you’re counting calories. Hamburgers are served with a side of Eureka’s hand-cut Kennebec potato fries, but you can always splurge with a side of sweet honey cinnamon fries or panko-crusted onion rings instead.
Speaking of splurging, don’t forget to try a few choices from the drool-worthy appetizer list. Osso Buco Riblets, Lollipop Corn Dogs and Eureka Truffle Fries are some of the house's go-to favorites.
But don’t think that burgers are the only thing that Eureka! does well: the burger joint also boasts one of the best craft beer selections in town. Dozens of craft beers are on tap to cater to every palette, whether you’re a malt or hops fan.
Half of the taps are dedicated to the latest releases from local brewers, so you’ll truly be getting a taste of the Desert. If you’re more of a wine drinker, not to worry: there are even two taps dedicated to a white and red wine.

If you fancy yourself a whisky drinker, you’ll definitely appreciate the small-batch spirits featured at Eureka! In honor of the 21st Amendment outlawing prohibition, the bar carries 21 whiskeys from states like California, Kentucky and Texas.
The gastro pub features unique designs in all of its locations, reflecting the local area and vibe. Eureka’s Indian Wells location takes advantage of the warm desert weather and gorgeous mountain views with an expansive patio, where you can sit under the misters and enjoy some of the juiciest burgers in the desert.
