Palm Springs becomes a very different desert after dark.
Once the last rounds finish up at the golf courses, it's time for the first round at one of the Coachella Valley's best watering holes. The latest place to knock back a few cold ones in the evening? Bar in downtown Palm Springs.
The aptly-named Bar, owned by the same family that owns the two Giuseppe's restaurants in Palm Springs and Cathedral City, is a chic lounge with a hint of dive bar soul. Here, you can enjoy handcrafted cocktails, a well-rounded bar menu and music by local acts and DJs.
If you're more into boot-scootin' and boogying, grab your cowboy hat and head to Stadium House in Rancho Mirage. Every Friday night, Stompede at the Stadium takes over the dance floor for a night of country line dancing. Are your moves a little rusty? Not to worry: lessons are offered on Wednesday nights, giving you plenty of time to polish those moves (and boots) in time for the weekend.
Couldn't score Coachella Fest tickets? You can still catch some notable musicians in Indio at the Date Shed, which is quickly carving a name for itself as one of the top local venues for live music. In recent months, the Date Shed has hosted headliners like Reverend Horton Heat, The Expendables and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Local bands also take the stage regularly, and with acts playing everything from ska to heavy metal, you're sure to have a good night at the Date Shed.
