ALTITUDE Sky Lounge was already one of San Diego's most popular nightlife spots. The trendy open-air bar sits on the 22nd floor of the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, and it's famous for bird's-eye views into PETCO Park (including home plate) and beyond, signature cocktails, bottle service and a much-appreciated relaxed vibe that can be rare in the historic quarter.
Earlier in the year, ALTITUDE Sky Lounge unveiled a newly renovated space, aptly-named City Sights. The 4,000-square-foot space boasts a glass-walled balcony accessed via glass sliding doors that fully open across the length of the balcony. The new indoor lounge is served by a full bar and decorated with plush furniture. It's also home to communal tables for ideal mingling.
Needless to say, the now 360-degree view of downtown San Diego and the San Diego Bay is nothing short of spectacular, especially with the city's glittering lights after dark.

"ALTITUDE Sky Lounge is a favorite spot for everyone visiting or living in San Diego, so we're excited to see how the guests will respond when they see City Sights," says Jim Durbin, general manager of San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter. "City Sights will bring socializing at ALTITUDE Sky Lounge to the next level. There aren't many places in San Diego that can offer the panoramic views we have right here."
Guests of ALTITUDE have access to City Sights, also an awe-inspiring venue for hosting private events.
Who comes to ALTITUDE? The ambiance is as appropriate for date night as it is for a festive girls' night out. It tends to draw a more sophisticated crowd than other nearby venues.
Want to dance? Check the schedule for nights when DJs spin tunes. Roll with the VIP package (available on Friday and Saturday nights) for front-of-the-line entry, a roped-off area, bottle service and a hotel room for the night. Note that the rooftop bar is within walking distance of downtown's best hotels and restaurants.
One of the most popular times to visit is during happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Sunday. Why? We're talking specials like $6 premium well cocktails, $5 domestic draft beers and half off artisan flatbreads. The value and view just can't be beat.
ALTITUDE Sky Lounge is open daily at 5:00 p.m., though they open two hours prior on Padres game days. The only thing you need to do is leave the baggy clothing and bad attitude behind.
