NINJAGO Land has officially debuted at the North County San Diego theme park LEGOLAND California Resort.
The land is based on the wildly successful NINJAGO LEGO theme, which even has its own Cartoon Network series. NINJAGO tells the story of four young ninja heroes – Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane – who train under the watchful eye of Master Wu to master an ancient martial art called Spinjitzu.
The new land features LEGO building stations, a game to test reflexes, spinners to test balance, Asian cuisine and a new shopping venue. Interactive experiences will test guests’ physical skills, balance and agility before they can prep for their ultimate training session: NINJAGO The Ride.

The ride is unique in that its cutting-edge technology enables guests to control the outcome of their adventure through the power of their hand gestures. Four riders in each car represent the four main NINJAGO heroes.
The striking hand gestures will be picked up by motion sensor technology and result in blasting of fireballs, lightning, shockwaves and ice, as the car travels through dojos to master skills before heading into battle. Points are collected throughout the exercises, and the tally is revealed to riders at the end of the ride.
In addition to 3D imagery, 4D effects like wind and heat add to the experience.
“I am proud and thrilled to say that this is our 11th straight year of continuous attendance growth, and we attribute much of this to our winning formula of providing our guests a family environment filled with fun, interactive experiences that create lasting memories," says LEGOLAND General Manager Peter Ronchetti. "NINJAGO The Ride will be the ultimate experience, providing interactive fun for all."
The addition of NINJAGO Land follows the recent opening of a LEGO Friends area catered to girls, as well as two water parks. The expansions mean that it's possible to now span a visit over the course of a few days, making a stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel an excellent choice, as guests are granted early entry into the park.
SEA LIFE Aquarium is also located next door to the LEGOLAND theme park.
LEGOLAND California Resort is geared toward kids between the ages of two and 12. Entry to the new NINJAGO Land will be included in general LEGOLAND California Resort admission.
