SeaWorld's Aquatica San Diego, a unique concept that combines an educational marine park with a waterpark, is set to open on June 1. Located on the grounds of the old Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista, Aquatica will feature a South Seas theme and thrilling rides.
Some of the many attractions include:
Whanau Way: A 60-foot waterslide complex with four enclosed and two open-air slides.
Whalhalla Wave: Complete with tube lift so riders don't have to carry their inner tubes up the stairs, this 78-foot ride allows families to ride together in a gigantic tube.
Big Surf Shores: This is one of the largest wave pools in Southern California featuring more than 500,000 gallons of water. Swells will reach up to 5 feet.
Slippity Dippity: An area for toddlers and their families, kid-sized slides here keep the little waterpark enthusiasts occupied.
Loggerhead Lane: Wind around the 1250-foot-long lazy river with an up-close view of Caribbean flamingos who will also participate in a parade twice a day throughout the park.
