Look up to the high, warehouse-like ceiling where you'll see contemporary, cool ducts blowing out air from the busy open kitchen. Look down to the reclaimed hardwood floors and the modern tables set between spurts of live greenery. It's an interior combination that most homeowners would envy. The scene is also probably full of people enjoying a menu based on Dr. Andrew Weil's anti-inflammatory diet. True Food Kitchen has finally arrived in San Diego and, yes, it's in a popular shopping mall, Fashion Valley.
You've probably seen Dr. Weil on television. He's trusted by the likes of Oprah for his views on healthy aging, vitamins and other lifestyle topics. He's infused his methodology into True Food Kitchen restaurants, with San Diego as his fifth venue. The restaurants use locally-sourced and organic foods when possible. Still water is filtered onsite, carbonated water is made in-house and only sustainable wines are poured.
Popular dishes include the Tuscan kale salad, herbed hummus, and grilled wild ahi sliders with wasabi. Have kids in tow? Not to worry, they have a kids' menu with popular favorites such as sizable cheese pizzas.
Stop by True Food Kitchen and see why it's been packed since the day it opened.
